We start off each week bringing you the news of crimes across the country – some without happy endings or resolutions, some where the bad guys get away. So, to that end, we like to end each week by providing you with a roundup of some of the best Eyewitness Success stories for the week – times when the good guys won and local businesses were protected from the worst.

Eyewitness Dispatch Results in Arrest of Four Amid Ongoing Memphis Troubles

Date: 04.07.20     Metro Area: Memphis, TN

The past few weeks have seen the Memphis area terrorized by large gangs of juveniles breaking into dealerships and stealing cars. Eyewitness has kept a close eye on Memphis properties and recently dispatched on a group of four would-be young thieves.

At 11:06 pm, a Remote Surveillance Professional (RSP) monitored four individuals walk onto the dealership property having been dropped off by a dark colored sedan parked offsite. Police were immediately dispatched.

While waiting for officers to arrive, RSPs observed the four attempting to gain entry into various inventory vehicles – and also the building. Soon, police arrived, at once surrounding and apprehending the intruders. Dispatch called into Eyewitness to confirm they had everyone that was involved.

All four individuals were taken off property by police and dispatch stated that they were juveniles and had been charged with criminal trespassing, curfew violations and would be indicted

Tire Thief in Stolen Truck Attempts to Lie, Fails

Date: 04.08.20     Metro Area: Indianapolis, IN

An Eyewitness RSP monitored an individual walking from the east lot of a dealership and begin throwing tires over the fence. Police were immediately dispatched on this suspicious activity.

Officers arrived and quickly located the individual, detaining him. While on the phone with the dispatch, they stated that the individual was driving a red pick up truck and claimed to be an employee, however he would not provide his name to police. After further investigating, it was indeed confirmed that he was lying. What’s more, the police determined that the truck in which he arrived was also a stolen vehicle.

Woman Arrested for Stealing Items from Vehicles

Date: 04.09.20     Metro Area: Dallas, TX

Eyewitness monitored a female individual enter a dealership property as audio was used to have her depart. When she failed to do so, the police were dispatched.

While waiting on the police to arrive, the individual was monitored pulling on door handles and moving around the property. Most of the vehicles were locked, however, she was able to gain entry into a silver sedan with heavily tinted windows.

She was in the car for several minutes and then opened the truck and rummaged through it before walking away with items in her hand. The police then arrived and made contact with the individual just off property. They gathered information, took pictures and recovered the stolen items.
