We start off each week bringing you the news of crimes across the country – some without happy endings or resolutions, some where the bad guys get away. So, to that end, we like to end each week by providing you with a roundup of some of the best Eyewitness Success stories for the week – times when the good guys won and local businesses were protected from the worst.

Tire Thief Caught

Date: 03.01.20     Metro Area: Oklahoma City, OK

While monitoring the service center of a dealership, Eyewitness Remote Surveillance Professionals observed a truck drive on site and an individual begin to remove used tires, loading them up in his vehicle. RSPs dispatched police to the site.

During the call with police, the individual was observed leaving the property towards another lot, so the dispatcher was updated with the direction of travel. Shortly after, police were seen responding to the site and, upon calling for a disposition, the dispatcher stated that the individual was found and placed under arrest.

Trespasser with Keys Enters Car, Gets Arrested

Date: 03.03.20     Metro Area: Dallas, TX

Eyewitness monitored an individual walk on a dealership property and immediately, with no hesitation, enter a vehicle on the lot. As a result, the police were at once dispatched.

The dispatcher stayed on the phone with Eyewitness as monitors kept them apprised of the intruder’s location. Police arrived onsite, made contact, detained the trespasser and advised that not only was the individual arrested for trespassing, but was found to have in his possession a key to the inventory vehicle, though he had not been onsite previously during monitoring hours. It is most likely he obtained the key during daytime operations; an investigation Eyewitness is helping with as well via video retrievals.

Fleeing Intruder Arrested

Date: 03.05.20     Metro Area: Fresno, CA

Eyewitness Remote Surveillance Professionals monitored an individual arrive on a dealership property after hours. Audio was used and police were dispatched when the individual ducked down by a yellow Camaro.

When police arrived, the individual reacted and began running off property. Eyewitness was able to alert arriving officers who gave chase. When RSPs called later for a disposition, it was confirmed that the individual was apprehended and arrested off property.

Audio Expertly Scares Off Subject Attempting Break-In

Date: 03.05.20     Metro Area: Fresno, CA

At 9:19 pm, the Eyewitness monitoring center observed a hooded individual with a backpack sneak onto the property. He approached a yellow vehicle located within camera view, crouched down and attempted to break into the car. Immediately, audio warnings were initiated, which served their purpose well, at once scaring off the perpetrator: the individual grabbed his backpack and ran off the property immediately after.
