We start off each week bringing you the news of crimes across the country – some without happy endings or resolutions, some where the bad guys get away. So, to that end, we like to end each week by providing you with a roundup of some of the best Eyewitness Success stories for the week – times when the good guys won and local businesses were protected from the worst.

Arrest on Multiple Warrants

Date: 03.21.20     Metro Area: Oklahoma City, OK

Well after hours, an individual was seen walking onto a monitored dealership lot and was seen opening and entering several unsecured vehicles. The individual did not respond to the audio warning, so police were dispatched

Police soon arrived just as the individual was exiting one of the vehicles. They then made contact with him and took him into custody.  Dispatch called into Eyewitness to confirm that, as the intruder had outstanding warrants, officers were placing him under arrest.

Large Group of Masked Intruders Scared Away

Date: 03.22.20     Metro Area: Memphis, TN

A large group of hooded and masked intruders entered onto a dealership lot and immediately started going between vehicles. The site was at once addressed by audio, demanding they leave, and the intruders heeded the warning and sprinted off the property.

Due to the suspicious nature of the activity, Eyewitness still requested police come search the area and provided their direction of travel. Police arrived and searched the lot. They reportedly did not find the individuals but there also was no damage reported to the inventory. Dispatch further informed that there have been groups of wheel thieves in the Memphis area in the last few days and that police have been actively trying to catch them.

Two Scrap Thieves Cease Thefts, Flee Instead

Date: 03.22.20     Metro Area: Philadelphia, PA

Two intruders were seen entering a recycling yard site and were immediately attempting to steal material from the site. Upon seeing this activity, police were quickly dispatched.

As police arrived, the two intruders were seen fleeing the property, dropping an item and leaving empty-handed. Police were seen searching the area in which the intruders were last seen, but they advised Eyewitness that they were unable to locate the individuals.

Intruder Getting in Vehicles Arrested

Date: 03.25.20     Metro Area: Atlanta, GA

Alarms were received at 3:17 AM on a subject seen walking onto the property. The intruder was observed opening car doors and looking inside.

An audio announcement was made and police were dispatched. The subject ended up getting inside of a vehicle though, when police arrived, they drove past the subject. As Eyewitness was continuing to direct officers to the correct location, the subject got out of the vehicle and left the property. However, officers ended up locating the subject off of the property and took her into custody.
